  1. A couple months ago I sent out a note on usenet announcing a contest for
  2. the "best of the mandelbrots".  The hope was I would be swamped with
  3. submissions from everyone discovering new and interesting mandelbrot
  4. images.  What actually happened was a whole 3 people sent me disks containing
  5. some mandelbrot images, so these must be the best!!

  7. Originally these were set up to be displayed using dpslide and a dpslide
  8. command file of the form:

  10.     cow.dragon,2,0,0,7
  11.     dragon,2,0,0,7
  12.     five.point.dragon,2,0,0,7
  13.     mand2k.m,2,0,0,7
  14.     mandel.bug,2,0,0,7
  15.     mandel.ducks,2,0,0,7

  17.     mandel.star,2,0,0,7
  18.     mandel.valley,2,0,0,7
  19.     mandelbrot.set,2,0,0,7

  23. This promptly led to a guru meditation after about 4 or 5 slides, so
  24. looks like dpslide chokes on these files for some reason.

  26. So, as an alternative try using the CLI command file:
